Your lymphatic system is responsible
for initiating the immune response,
creating antibodies, draining
interstitial fluid, and transporting dietary lipids
(fats). It
relies primarily on muscle movement (i.e., exercise) to circulate
the
lymph fluid through your body.
Our typical sedentary lifestyles can cause the lymph system to
become sluggish
and congested. Lymphatic massage can help break up
this congestion, allowing
the lymph to circulate more freely.
At Balanced Approach Holistic Health, we use an electronic device
to assist in
this process. You can have lymphatic work done as
part of your colonic or
schedule separate sessions just for the
lymphatic work.
It
takes approximately 2 hours to do a lymphatic drainage session
over the
entire body. We can work the major lymph areas in about
an hours time and we
can work a small problem area (such as head,
neck, and shoulders) in about 30
minutes (this is the minimum time
we will schedule).
During a closed system colonic we spend
approximately 15 to 20 minutes working the chest, abdominal area,
and axilary regions (armpits). This is an additional charge
(see
Prices) and does not take additional
time.
We
use equipment called the Derma-Ray. This is a high-frequency
light source, which is passed over the skin
to accelerate movement
of waste proteins and fluids lodged in the lymphatic system and
surrounding tissue.
It disperses this material and stimulates
drainage of these waste products.
Dr.
Charles McWilliams invented the Derma-Ray after 20 years of
research. Dr. McWilliams is an expert in
electromodalities and has
published 17 articles in the field. He is also a licensed
homeopath, herbalist, and
acupuncturist. He practices in the West
Indies.
